This week's assignment is to complete the remaining blocks with the two gray fabrics....

and the two black fabrics.  Next week, we will sew the quilt together.  Prudence is coming along nicely!

Hands To Work Comes Home from Heartspun Quilts ~ Pam Buda

Hands To Work Quilt by Pam Buda ~ Heartspun Quilts
I'm so very happy that my Hands To Work quilt is back home from being quilted.  My quilter and friend, Ronda, always does a superb job, and I am thrilled with how the quilt looks with its Baptist Fan quilting.  The perfect traditional quilt pattern for this quilt, and the one used on the antique, too!

This is a photo of the antique quilt that was my inspiration.

I had such fun playing with fabric combinations for each block....

....there are so many different ways you can make the block ...

Hands To Work Quilt Kit Pre-Order from Heartspun Quilts ~ Pam Buda

Hands To Work Quilt ~ Farmer's Daughter Fabric Collection
Long, long ago, I saw this truly unique antique quilt and it really stuck with me.  I adore everything about this quilt, and knew I wanted to reproduce it, and a collection of fabrics to go with it.

The unusual pairing of reds, pinks, blacks, blues and gray prints against the Mourning print is so stunning.  The block, and the seemingly endless options with fabrics, only makes it all the better!

And so.....my Farmer's Daughter fabric collection came to be!

Since the Mourning print has such a huge role ...

Barn Style quilt . . . just because from Carried Away Quilting

Sometimes I have to make a quilt just because my heart tells me so. I bet that’s true for a lot of you as well. It doesn’t matter if I’m too busy or have other sewing projects that should be a priority, that desire to sew up a particular pattern with treasured fabrics is too strong to ignore.  And that’s how it was for me recently, when I stitched up the Barn Style pattern by Lella Boutique using some of my favorite fabrics.

I love everything about this quilt. The bold, over-sized blocks create a simple ...

Bloomington bundle giveaway with LouLou's Fabric Shop from Carried Away Quilting

Last weekend I had a play date with myself in my sewing room. I pulled out my stash of Lella Boutique fabrics and admired some of my favorite prints. I rifled through my pattern basket for project ideas. I didn’t have a plan, but I felt compelled to create. For me that is the true joy of sewing. Turning myself over to the process, letting the outside world fall away, becoming happily focused on something basic and beautiful.

So today I'm sharing a little peek at what I was up to. Mostly I just cut some fabric and ...

Bloom-Topia: Release 2 from Carried Away Quilting

Hello quilting friends! I'm popping in today with my Release 2 block for the 2020 Bloom-Topia quilt along with Fat Quarter Shop.  Isn't she a dandy? This block is called Carolina Lily. It finishes at 18 1/2" x 20 1/2" and is a snap to make.

If you read my last post, you'll know that I am honored to be one of the guest bloggers for this charity quilt along which benefits Make-A-Wish. The sweet folks at Fat Quarter Shop were kind enough to send the original Bloom-Topia quilt out on a road trip, visiting ...

Another Lakeside Star quilt! from Carried Away Quilting

My second Lakeside Star quilt is finished and ready to be gifted to a lovely bride and groom-to-be, our beautiful niece and her handsome fiancé! I hope this quilt will add the warm reminder of family love and support to their home. We live several states apart and don’t get to see them often. It’s nice to think of them snuggled together under this cozy quilt, watching a movie or sharing their day’s experiences.

The Lakeside Star pattern is a good choice for a quilt intended for a young couple.  It’s bold and graphic, which fits ...
